The Black Sea Arena is located on the shores of the Black Sea, near Shekvetili Resort. The design and architecture of the arena were the work of the German company, Drei Architekten, which won the 2020 German Design Award for Best Modern Architecture for their work.
The open-air concert hall is an amphitheater equipped with ultramodern technology. The hall has a retractable roof to account for the weather. At night, when the colorful lighting is turned on, the concert hall resembles a fairytale ship.
The Black Sea Arena officially opened on the 30th of July 2016 with a concert by Christina Aguilera. Since then, numerous legendary performers have appeared on its stage, including Vanessa Mae, Gipsy Kings, Ennio Morricone, Elton John, Jessie J, Scorpions, Aerosmith, and Robert Plant.
In 2018 an operatic show was put on at Black Sea Arena, with the Verona Opera performing Aida on its stage.
Concerts of Georgian performers, singers, and dance ensembles are often held on the Black Sea Arena stage as well.
If you have purchased tickets for a show at the Black Sea Arena, we recommend that you get there early and take a walk through the magical garden surrounding the building before the concert starts. The rows of eucalyptus trees, the singing fountains, and the unique Musicians Garden will put you in exactly the right mood for listening to amazing music.
Both the hall itself and the whole area are equipped for anybody’s needs. There is a free parking lot next to the hall, and the Black Sea Arena maintains the highest standards of safety for its audience members.
