The 24 kilometers from Tbilisi to Didgori takes about an hour by car. The 12-kilometer tour starts at Didgori Monument that glorifies the victory of Georgians over Seljuks in 1121. The final point of the tour is Chili Lake, located at 1,130 meters above sea level. After you reach the beautiful views of Kartli from the lake, you can head down the same route back to Tbilisi.
The lake is especially beautiful in the summertime and it’s often filled with people who love to fish.
Make sure you have the necessary equipment such as knee pads, a helmet, gloves, elbow pads, a first-aid kit, water, and spare parts. Of course, take some food to picnic with a view!
You can ride a Didgori bike tour any time of year, including winter, if there is no snow. The route is also used for overlanding, so it is not recommended to bike in rainy weather.
