Koruldi Lakes

Koruldi Lakes

An alpine zone, 2,850 meters above sea level, including the highest peaks of Georgia - Shkhara, Tetnuldi, Ushba, and Laila - form an arch around the plateau on which Koruldi Lakes are located.

If you look at the glittering surface of these lakes, which are always filled with crystal clear water, the reflection of the snow-capped peaks behind  will remind you of stalactites, and together, an unforgettable landscape unfolds before your eyes, creating an almost illusory perception that gives you an unforgettable sensation.

This fairy tale experience can be savored in Svaneti, just 10 kilometers from Mestia. From Koruldi Lakes, not only are these famous peaks visible, but there is also a fantastic view of the Enguri Valley and the invisible, forest-covered mountains of the Great Caucasus Range.

The road to Koruldi Lakes is relatively short. Even if you like hiking, you can reach the lakes in a few hours from Mestia, with breathtaking photo opportunities are every turn. You can also reach the lake by horse, which you can rent in Mestia at a reasonable price. For those with less time on their hands, experienced local guides can take you to Koruldi Lakes in an off-road vehicle.

The fresh air awakens the appetite so, however you reach the lakes, ensure you are equipped with plenty of snacks!
