Paragliding in Sagarejo – Kazaniani Mountain

The city of Sagarejo sits at 772 meters above sea level, in the Kakheti Region, on the shores of the Tvaltkhevi River, 58 kilometers away from Tbilisi. The take-off point is on Kazaniani mountain at 670 meters high. You can summit the mountain either from Sartichala town or from Sagarejo city, via a dirt road using an SUV.

Location

The altitude of the flight itself is between 1,500 to 2,000 meters, and if the weather is good, you can even reach higher than 3,000 meters. 

Your flight time is between 15 and 30 minutes near the mountain to the top of Alazani Valley. The landing point is near the road, or you can end your flight by landing on the mountain itself.

Season

The best time to fly from Kazaniani to Sagarejo is from late spring to the middle of autumn.

Minimum weight: 30 kg 

Maximum weight: 220 kg

Paragliding at this location is adapted for people with disabilities, however, minors can only fly with written parental consent.

Safety

You will fly with a pilot who has a tandem-pilot certification from the Paragliding School of Georgia. 

During the flight, the pilot and the passenger should wear helmets, sunglasses, and close-toed sports shoes. The pilot’s chair is equipped with a proper parachute. Take a light coat with you during the summer, but something heavier during other seasons. If necessary, the pilots will provide you with clothes.

The pilot can record the flight with a GoPro camera upon request. Before your take-off, the pilot will provide you with important instructions.
