The festival was established in 2014, when a Polish theatre company performer the play “A Soleless Shoe”.

Since then, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Belarusian, Italian, and Iranian theater troupes have participated in the festival with theatre companies from Georgia amidst widespread press coverage.

Although the festival does not have a jury, however, a range of theatre-related organizations have established prizes that are awarded to distinguished plays.

In addition, the festival includes workshops and masterclasses for young people.

The founder and artistic director of the festival is Nineli Chankvetadze, an actress of the Theater of Film Actors named after Mikheil Tumanishvili, a renowned Georgian artist.
