Tetritskaro

The canyon is 548-605 meters above sea level, with a depth of approximately 300 meters, while spreading over 405 hectares.

The steep slopes of the canyon are covered by mixed and leafy forests, where Caucasian fir (Abies nordmanniana (Stev.) Spach), Georgian maple (Acer ibericum M. Bieb), and elm (Ulmus) can be found. In general, Samshvilde Canyon serves as the habitat for a variety of flora and fauna, including endemic and relict varieties.

You can enjoy panoramic views of the canyon from the ancient ruins of fortress-city Samshvilde.

Indeed, the historic fortress here was once a lively place, and traces of its fortifications and the purposes it served are still detectable today.
