Tkhopra Canyon is seven kilometres from the village of Salkhino. A 300-metre paved road leads from Tsachkhuri Monastery to the canyon.
Tkhopra Canyon is the only canyon in Georgia with seven waterfalls, the tallest of which is 55 metres in height.
While only three kilometres long, the difficult route means that going from one end to the other takes approximately five to six hours.
The valley is surrounded by copses of Colchic boxwood, as well as a beautiful broadleaf forest. From the higher points within the canyon, you’re afforded an amazing view of Martvili, Chkhorotsku, and Senaki.
After you’re done exploring Tkhopra Canyon, you can extend your visit with visits to the Dadiani Palace in Salkhino and nearby Tsachkhuri Monastery.
