Where Is Tskhumari Karst Cave Located?

The cave is located in the Tskhumari community, in Mestia Municipality, at an altitude of 2,700 meters above sea level. The cave itself is popular due to its ice pillars and amazing shapes.

The route to the cave begins at the school of Svipi Village and heads south, through a pine forest. The path through the forest and into Dolra River Valley is fairly long, but you will have beautiful views and plenty of fresh air along the way.

Where Can You Camp?

After passing the summer pasture for cattle and the subalpine zone, you will have to cross a small river and climb a slight incline. After that, you will find a meadow where you can pitch your tents. From there you are fairly close to where the cave is.

The best time to go see Tskhumari Karst Cave is between June 1st and October 15th.

Please note that for a trip to the cave, you must be accompanied by a certified guide and have special equipment.

There is no tourist infrastructure in the cave.
