About Kiketi Village

Kiketi village is 18 kilometers from the capital Tbilisi and, according to the administrative division, it belongs to the Mtatsminda District of the capital.

The village is on the southeastern part of Trialeti ridge, 1,200 meters above sea level. Kiketi is characterized by warm and dry summers and cold winters. In summer the average temperature is +23 C°, +26 C°, and in winter -2.5 C°. The air of the mixed forest (spruce, fir tree, oak, beech, etc.) is very useful for preventing respiratory diseases.

Kiketi is also very popular with people who enjoy cycling. The bike path starts at the Kiketi turn, where mountain bike tours are organized. The path then crosses over Kiketi and descends toward Asureti, along the forest road, where you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Kvemo Kartli.

The first time the village was mentioned in historical sources was in the 18th century, under the name of Sabaratiano village. However, archaeologists have found Samarovani (a Bronze-age old cemetery) in this area.

The 13th-century Kabeni Monastery, on the ridge of Asuretistskali river and the Kabeni waterfall, are also must-visits.
