The Historical Past of Arsha Village

Arsha Village is located just five kilometres from Stepantsminda. It is one of the oldest villages in the region that used to be an important strategic site centuries ago. The village was strongly fortified by the Arsha Fortress, the ruins of which can still be found on top of the ridge overlooking the Arsha Waterfalls and surrounding area.

How Do You Get to the Waterfall?

From Arsha Village, there is a 1.5-kilometre-long hike which will bring you to the first waterfall. A little farther than that, in no more than 10-15 minutes, the second waterfall - known as “Woman’s Hair” - can be found.

The hike to the first waterfall is relatively easy, but reaching the second waterfall can be a bit difficult due to the steep slopes, however, once you see these twin beauties and let their ice-cold water cool you off, we’re sure you’ll say the trip was worth it!
