Bicycle tour - Gonio-Sarpi

Characteristics

The tour starts from Gonio village and heads towards the mountains, providing beautiful views of  Batumi, Gonio, and the Black Sea.

The length of the trail is 10.5 km. The road from Gonio alternates between concrete and dirt. The higher you climb, the more interesting the panorama around you becomes.

The route ends in Sarpi, which is located near the Georgia-Turkey border, in the municipality of Khelvachauri, on the bank of the Tobashi River. From there, you return by the same route.

It is possible to arrange a long break both in Sarpi and on the way back in Gonio, where you can feast on delicious Ajarian dishes and enjoy the exceptional local hospitality.

Things to consider

Before starting the route, be sure to check whether you are  properly equipped with knee pads, helmet, gloves, elbow pads, camera, first aid kit, water, and spare parts.

The Gonio-Sarfi cycle tour is doable in all seasons, including snowless winter.
