The Big and Small Lakes of Lebarde

Lebarde Lakes

A pearl hidden in the mountains of Samegrelo is perhaps the best way to describe the Lebarde resort, located in the mountainous part of Martvili Municipality, surrounded by evergreen pine and mixed forests of rare beauty, and curative acidic water rising from the heart of the earth, which is extremely cold.

About Lebarde Lakes

Lebarde resort is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters, and after a 3-4 hour walk from here, on the western slope of the Gvira Ridge, you will see the stunning Lebarde Lakes, with the bigger one at 2,300 meters above sea level and the smaller at 2,400 meters.

The best period for hiking around Lebarde Lakes is July-September, when the air temperature peaks at around 16-17 degrees.

To reach Lebarde resort, you must go via the village of Doberazen. The 30 km dirt road connecting the two points passes through the beautiful Tekhuri Valley.

When passing through the resort, the forest ends and you follow the path to the lakes, located in an alpine zone. The road is of medium difficulty, and thus reaching the bigger lake requires about an hour and a half, and a further hour to get to the smaller lake.

Lebarde Lakes can also be reached from Lechkhumi, while good camping sites can be found in the green meadows around both lakes, with refreshing air and abundant adventures to be savored.
