This fascinating history can be experienced at the Chiatura Regional Museum, in which various artifacts including bronze axes, spearheads, pins, beads, coins, and historic photographs. In all, there are more than 13,000 relics kept in the museum.
In addition to this exhibition, the museum also hosts temporary exhibits such as “Archaeological Digs in the Chiatura Region”, “Women & Jewelry”, and “Roots”. These short-term exhibits ensure that there is always something new to see.
Founded in 1962, the museum is located at 5 Tkhelidze Street in Chiatura’s central district. It is recognised as an immovable cultural monument, and well worth a visit if you’re visiting the city.
