Where is the International Folklore Festival “Sakartvelo” Held?

On the initiative of the State Folklore Center, the International Folklore Festival “Sakartvelo” has been held every year since 2016 and takes place from the last week of August through the first week of September. 

The festival takes place in Racha-Lechkhumi Region, with many people coming to the region to attend these shows. Visitors can expect to be amazed by these performances of Georgian dance, which are complemented by Georgian ethnic music, ethnic jazz, and religious hymns. You can even take lessons in Georgian dance and song!

What is the Purpose of the Festival?

The cities of Oni and Ambrolauri share the festival, with performances taking place alternately in each location. 

The Georgian folklore ensembles as well as ethnic music groups from a variety of European countries participate in the festival.
