In the 1980s, near the reservoir, the Lakbe river was dammed for reclamation purposes. The change was enforced to supply Shiraki valley with irrigation water. The reservoir construction was not completed, so it now looks like a natural lake.
The maximum depth of Lakbe Reservoir reaches 22 meters and in the past, people have tried to fill it with carp and bream. However, chub naturally came to the reservoir territory through the river. The ichthyofauna of the Lakbe reservoir has not yet been fully explored, yet, it is worth a visit.
