Paragliding in Bakhmaro – Sunset Hill

The high-mountain resort of Bakhmaro is situated in Guria Region, on the Ajara-Guria mountain range, 2,050 meters above sea level. The resort is open during summer, but ski-tour lovers visit snowy Bakhmaro in the winter.

Location

Sunset Hill is the take-off point for paragliding in Bakhmaro and is also a great spot to watch the sunset.

Travel up Sunset Hill by SUV 2.8 kilometers from the center of Bakhmaro.

Take off is at 2,148 meters high and you will fly around the mountain, and the landing point is set up in the center of Bakhmaro, in open fields. 

The flight time is 20 to 25 minutes.

Season

You can paraglide in Bakhmaro in the summer.

Who Can Fly?

Minimum weight: 30 kg

Maximum weight: 220 kg

Minors can only fly with written parental consent.

Safety

Fly with a pilot who has a tandem-pilot certification from the Paragliding School of Georgia. 

The pilot’s chair is equipped with a proper parachute. During the flight, the pilot and the passenger wear helmets, close-toed shoes, and sunglasses. Wear a light coat during the summer, and something warm for the rest of the season. 

Let the pilot know if you want your flight recorded and they can set up a GoPro camera.

Before the tandem flight, the pilot will provide important instructions.
