Pudzeoba Festival - folklore event in Racha

You can visit Racha Region any time of the year, however, if your visit coincides with the end of August, this will be double luck for you. The slogan, "Back to the roots" is the motto for the Pudzeoba festival held in Ambrolauri.

What does the "Pudzeoba" festival offer?

The goal of the folklore festival is to help young people who moved away, reconnect with their roots.

All the corners of Racha-Lechkhumi - Kvemo Svaneti Region are presented in a single allocated space, where they display local handmade crafts and applied arts.

At the festival, exhibitions are held and specific stalls sell ecological products so you get to know the local delicacies. Naturally, the folklore festival is not complete without traditional dances and songs that local ensembles and groups perform.

During the Pudzeoba festival, you get to know old Georgian traditional games such as javelin throwing, powerlifting, and archery. You can also participate in running, arm wrestling, and wrestling competitions.

At the end of the festival, outstanding people are awarded the title of honorable citizen of Ambrolauri.
