The village of Mazeri is in Mestia municipality, in the Dolra River Valley, 1,660 meters above sea level. It is 25 kilometers to there from the center of Mestia.
There is a gorgeous view of Ushba peak from the village of Mazeri, which is one of the oldest villages in Becho Community and is on numerous tourist routes.
The route starts in the village of Mazeri, on the southern slopes of Detsili Mountain, with most of the path going through a forest massif.
From there, you cross over into the alpine zone, and head toward the highest point on Detsili Mountain. It is 2,560 meters high, with the route having a drop in elevation of 900 meters.
From the peak of the mountain you can clearly see the peaks of Ushba, Laila, and the majority of the Svaneti Caucasus Range. Moreover, Mazeri Archangel Church, which dates back to the 11th century, stands on Detsili Mountain.
You can take the same route back, skiing carefully back to Mazeri.
Before and after taking this route, you can stay either in a the hotel in Mestia or a guesthouse in the village of Becho.
You can take an SUV to the starting point.
In addition to hiring an experienced guide, it is also important to have all of the following equipment: special skis, an avalanche kit, a transmitter, a spade, and a probe.
