Tbilisi Photography and Multimedia Museum

Photography is a universal language, allowing you to turn a short visit to a single city into a lifetime of memories that you can revisit whenever you scroll through your phone or leaf through a photo album. If you’re an avid smartphone photographer, you must visit the Photography & Multimedia Museum, which established itself as the photography hub of the South Caucasus when it opened its doors in 2018.

Where is the Tbilisi Photography and Multimedia Museum Located and What Will You See There?

Within the museum, which is located in Stamba, one of Tbilisi’s trendiest hotels, there is a rich multimedia collection on display. Here you’ll find photo, video, and audio works from the Tbilisi Photo Festival, which has been hosting exhibitions of photographers and photojournalists from around the world since 2010. There photography runs the gamut of themes, covering events both local and abroad.

History is clearly seen through these photographs, with one of the largest displays in the museum dedicated to the Russian-Georgian War of 2008. Here you’ll find the reality of war brought to life in photo, video, and audio materials, including works from the warzone as captured by the famous French video artist Christian Barani.
