Cycling Tour: Koruldi Lakes

The Route

The tour starts from Koruldi Lakes, which is located on the slopes of Ushba, at an altitude of 2,850 meters above sea level. You’ll need a transfer to the lake by a 4WD car. 

Among the numerous breathtaking destinations in Svaneti, Koruldi Lakes is one of the most outstanding. The lakes are surrounded by glaciers, with the towering peaks reflected in the bright blue lake, never failing to astonish its visitors. 

The route passes through the alpine zone, from where beautiful views of Upper Svaneti open up.

The length of the trail is 7 km. Various routes can be taken to descend it depending on how advanced the cyclist is. At the beginning, the road is relatively easy, however, from the first turn onward the difficulty increases markedly from a technical point of view. In the end, you can enjoy a long break in Mestia to sample some delicious Svan dishes and enjoy the exceptional local hospitality.

Before you hit the trail, make sure you've got the right gear: knee pads, helmet, gloves, elbow pads, camera, and first aid kit.

The bicycle tour around Koruldi Lakes is possible only from July to November.
