About the Event

Together, USAID Economic Security Partners and its partners GNTA and the Steller app are bringing top influencers from around the world to Georgia to share their real experiences on both the Steller travel storytelling app and on other social platforms.

The partnership kicked off in May 2021 and resulted in a successful campaign called, “A Digital Day in the Life of Georgia,” reaching more than 7.5 million potential customers, achieving 35 million impressions, and resulting in $2.6 million in earned media value. It was the highest profile tourism campaign GNTA has conducted in recent years, and was covered extensively by the foreign and Georgian press.

5 Ways We Blew Travel Creators’ Minds When GNTA Partnered with USAID and Steller to Bring Them to Georgia

If you’re up for an adventure, the country of Georgia is the place to be. Luckily, we found 16 travel creators who were, in fact, up for it all! See their experiences first-hand in these Steller stories and find out why Georgia is quickly becoming one of the coolest destinations in the world.

1. Georgia has All the Thrills

From hot air ballooning to paragliding, the best way to see Georgia's incredibly diverse landscape is from way, way up above. But you don’t even need to leave the ground—the views from up in the mountains are just as spectacular!

2. The Comfort Food is on Another Level

Feast your eyes on warm cheese-and-butter-stuffed bread, plates piled high with steaming broth-filled dumplings, and bowls of Matsoni, a fresh tart yogurt that’s a Georgian staple. Top it all off with an unforgettable mountain view!

3. So Many Major Mountain Adventures

The Caucasus mountains provide plenty of incredible experiences, but here are some ideas: Take the road to Kazbegi beneath a dormant stratovolcano, go for an adventure in the rugged terrain of Tusheti National Park, or climb Georgia’s version of the Italian Dolomites above the Juta valley!

4. Georgia is the Real Birthplace of Wine

Despite having more than 500 grape varieties and a rich wine-making tradition, Georgia has been largely overlooked as a wine producer. But the country is actually the birthplace of the beverage thanks to a wine-making tradition that dates back 8,000 years! You’ve got to try kvevri, a type of wine that is fermented in clay vessels and buried underground.

5. It’s Home to One of the World’s Oldest Communities

Georgia has an amazing number of historic landmarks, including more than 100 castles in the country. It’s also home to some of Europe’s highest permanent settlements. Check out Vardzia, a monastery from the 12th century that is carved directly into the slopes of Erusheti Mountain. Its cliff-side caves stretch for more than a quarter mile!
